Faculty

Dr. Faissal earned his medical degree from Cardiff University, United Kingdom, in 2001. He began his medical career in the UK, where he practiced until 2005. Upon returning to Malaysia that same year, he joined Universiti Teknologi MARA as a trainee lecturer and enrolled in the Master of Orthopaedic Surgery program at Universiti Malaya in 2006. He successfully completed his orthopaedic training in 2010. From 2013 to 2015, Dr. Faissal underwent subspecialty training through the Orthopaedic Oncology Fellowship programme at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre. He later passed the National Board of Orthopaedic Oncology examination in September 2018. In October 2015, Dr. Faissal joined the Faculty of Medicine at Universiti Malaya as a senior lecturer. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2021 and has served as the Head of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery from 2021-2025. Dr. Faissal brings extensive experience in general orthopaedics, trauma care, joint reconstruction, and orthopaedic oncology surgery.
