Prof. Dr. Inv Mohd Yazid Bin Bajuri is a highly respected Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in Advanced Trauma and Foot & Ankle Surgery. He holds a Medical Degree and Master of Surgery in Orthopaedics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). With further specialization through prestigious fellowships in Switzerland and the United Kingdom, he has developed deep expertise in managing complex musculoskeletal conditions, particularly those affecting the foot and ankle. Currently serving as a Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Head of Advanced Foot & Ankle, Diabetic Wound Care & Reconstruction Unit at the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, Pusat Perubatan Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (PPUKM), Prof. Dr. Yazid is known for his clinical excellence and leadership. He underwent advanced subspecialty training at Kantonspital Liestal, Switzerland under world-renowned foot and ankle specialist Professor Beat Hintermann in 2012, followed by further training under Professor Rohan Rajan at Royal Derby Hospital, UK in 2013. Beyond his clinical achievements, Prof. Dr. Yazid has gained national recognition through his appearances on Innovathon Season 1 and Season 2, a Malaysian reality TV series centered on innovation and technology. His participation showcased his unique ability to bridge traditional medical practice with cutting-edge innovation, reflecting a multifaceted approach to healthcare. His innovative spirit has led to the development of several impactful medical products. Another notable initiative, the MyB Prosthetic Limb—designed to provide diabetic shoes and prosthetic limbs to the B40 income group has been commercialized, and received significant media attention. Since becoming an orthopedic surgeon in 2009, he has managed a high volume of cases and currently holds the distinction of performing the highest percentage of foot and ankle surgeries in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. He has also published over more than 100 journal articles, including several in high-impact journals. Currently, he is venturing into entrepreneurship, turning his innovations into impactful solutions through the PEMULA program at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). His work has now expanded internationally, with ongoing collaborations in Indonesia, Japan, and the Middle East. Driven by a strong passion for innovation and social impact, Prof. Dr. Yazid is committed to providing affordable yet high-quality prosthetic solutions to underserved communities. He continues to inspire through his dedication to clinical excellence, research, innovation, and compassionate care.
