Associate Prof Dr Nor Azman bin Mat Zin is a dedicated Orthopaedic Surgeon and lecturer at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) with more than 30 years of experience in clinical practice and medical education. Holding a B.Sc(Med) and MD from UKM, and MMed (Ortho) from USM, along with fellowships in orthopaedic oncology, he combines surgical expertise with innovative pedagogy. Since 2002, Nor Azman has served as a lecturer in orthopaedics, adjunct lecturer in medical education department and the school of dental Sciences at USM, a visiting lecturer at UNISZA, delivering lectures, tutorials, seminars, and clinical teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has mentored fellows in orthopaedic oncology since 2008. As coordinator for USM's Centre for Development of Academic Excellence (CDAE), he pioneered gamification in teaching, developed synchronous and asynchronous online platforms, and introduced Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR) tools since 2020 to enhance immersive learning. A trailblazer in educational technology, Assoc Prof Dr Nor Azman began training faculties on AI applications for teaching, learning, and research in 2023, fostering AI-driven innovations in curriculum design and student engagement. His contributions extend to 3D printing for surgical planning and bioethics in clinical encounters, enriching multidisciplinary education. He officially retired from the university in 2023 but continues serving in USM, several private medical universities and Private hospitals. With more than ten significant publications, active research grants, and leadership in orthopaedic oncology, Assoc Prof Dr Nor Azman exemplifies integrated clinical-academic excellence, preparing future healthcare professionals for technology-enhanced practice.
