“Selamat Datang ke Kuala Lumpur”

Esteemed members and friends of the Malaysian Orthopaedic Association,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 54th MOA Annual Scientific Meeting (MOA ASM 2025), themed “MOA In Motion: Journey Towards Orthopaedic Excellence.” Together with our mascot “OrthoBot,” we are excited to host you at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 17th to 19th May 2025.

Thank you for your understanding regarding the date change. Originally planned two years ago, we had to reschedule the ASM due to the ASEAN Summit 2025, which will take place at the same venue. This major event requires extensive logistical and security arrangements. Your flexibility is deeply appreciated as we support Malaysia’s chairmanship of ASEAN.

This meeting is a vital platform for advancing orthopaedic care. Under the leadership of our Scientific Chairman, Associate Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamal, this year’s programme offers engaging topics, innovative research, and hands-on workshops for surgeons and allied health professionals. We’ve enhanced the experience with a dedicated conference app and AI-powered live transcription to keep you connected and informed throughout the event.

This year, we welcome 72 exhibitors—including 23 first-timers—reflecting the growth and innovation in our field. We’re also proud to see a strong international presence among our delegates, underscoring MOA ASM’s growing global reach. A special welcome to our Guest Nation, the Indonesian Orthopaedic Association, led by its President, Professor Dr. Ismail Hadisoebroto Djiogo. We look forward to strengthening regional collaboration through this meaningful partnership.

To our orthopaedic nurses and allied health colleagues—you are essential to our healthcare system. Our nursing track, curated by a dedicated committee, offers valuable insights from clinical care to career development. I encourage all attendees to engage in these sessions.

In the spirit of giving back, we invite you to support our CSR initiative: the launch of a Children’s Reading Corner at Hospital Tuanku Ampuan Besar Tuanku Aishah Rohani (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Specialist Children’s Hospital). Please consider donating new or gently used books during the meeting.

My sincere thanks to the organising committee, secretariat, industry partners and Medical Conference Partners(MCP). I also extend heartfelt thanks to the medical student volunteers from the Malaysian Students’ Surgical Society, whose participation in our CSR project and at the MOA exhibition booth reflects their admirable enthusiasm for orthopaedics at such an early stage of their journey.

I wish everyone a productive, enriching, and memorable MOA ASM 2025.
Welcome to Kuala Lumpur!

Dear Esteemed Colleagues,

A warm welcome to the 54th Malaysian Orthopaedic Association Annual Scientific Meeting (MOA ASM 2025)! It is a distinct honour to greet you at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre for this significant event, themed “MOA In Motion: Journey Towards Orthopaedic Excellence.”

This year’s ASM is designed to be a dynamic platform, fostering collaboration and propelling us forward in orthopaedics. We are delighted to host a distinguished faculty of 37 international and 58 national experts, sharing their insights through a comprehensive programme including the General Orthopaedics Track, Subspeciality Tracks, Nursing and Allied Health Track and the GP Track.

We are excited to have Indonesia as our Guest Nation for this ASM. We extend a warm welcome to our colleagues from the Indonesian Orthopaedic Association, who have enriched our programme with the participation of 19 speakers. We highly value this opportunity for collaborative learning and the sharing of best practices between our nations.

Join us in celebrating our achievements through the prestigious awards: the Mahmood Merican Best Masters Research Award, Best Basic Science Poster Award, P. Balasubramaniam Best Published Translational Medicine (Non-Clinical) Paper Award, and Subir Sengupta Best Published Clinical Paper Award. We also proudly introduce for the first time the MOA Best Oral Presentation Award (USD 1,000.00 prize).

Adding on to the programme, come and support the 30 teams of Housemen, Medical Officers and Year 1 to Year 3 Masters Trainees from 19 hospitals that have signed up for a thrilling MOA Presidents Cup Quiz. Who will take home the coveted trophy this year?

Our theme, “MOA In Motion,” underscores our drive for continuous improvement and innovation. Enhance your experience with our conference app for real-time updates and networking. Selected sessions will feature AI-powered live transcription. Visit moaasm.com for the latest information.
